Durability is increased thanks to a PU loop at the top of the upper's medial side. It's also equipped with eyelet loops on the medial side to help prevent the shoelaces from breaking during abrupt movements.

Can I play in running shoes?

No, and it is the most common cause of avoidable court injuries. Running shoes are built for forward motion, with soft cushioning and a narrow base. Racket sports involve constant lateral movement and hard stops, which is exactly when a running shoe rolls. Court shoes have a wider, flatter platform and reinforced sidewalls for that reason.

What is the difference between hard court and clay court shoes?

Hard court soles use denser, more abrasion-resistant rubber and often carry a wear guarantee, because hard courts destroy soles. Clay soles use a full herringbone pattern so the tread clears and grips through a slide. All-court is the compromise if you play on both, and it is what most club players want.

Do padel shoes need to be different?

Padel is played on artificial grass dressed with sand, so the outsole needs to bite without clogging. A herringbone or mixed pattern works, which is why clay-court tennis shoes are a common substitute. A smooth hard-court sole will slide when you do not want it to.

How long should court shoes last?

For a player on court twice a week, six to nine months is typical before the outsole and midfoot support go. Cushioning fails before the upper looks worn, so shoes that still look fine can already have stopped protecting you.
